Over the years, our mission has grown. This two-pronged mission reflects how our services both embrace our most vulnerable neighbors and provide the resources they need on their journey toward housing and long-term stability.

2025 Impact Report

Refuge & Peace

Dear Friends and Supporters,

Wow, thank you! With your incredible support, St. Francis Center has completed its 42nd year of serving with and for our community.

Over the years, our mission has grown. We offer dignity, refuge, and peace to our community members experiencing homelessness while helping them meet their basic needs and transition into stable housing. This two-pronged mission reflects how our services both embrace our most vulnerable neighbors and provide the resources they need on their journey toward housing and long-term stability.

Dignity & Safety While Unhoused

In 2025, our team assisted more than 9,000 people through our Day Center, while our Street Outreach team conducted more than 10,000 encounters with individuals experiencing homelessness. Building on the success of our non-congregate shelter at the Comfort Inn, St. Francis Center committed to operating the Stone Creek community, a 182-unit hotel that will provide emergency shelter beginning in 2026. These critical programs offer safety, dignity, and the resources people need to return to housing and rebuild community connections.

Transition Out of Homelessness

Our team also brings deep expertise in helping people become and remain housed. Our permanent supportive housing maintained a 96% retention rate, reflecting the stability and ongoing support our residents experience. Through employment programs and strong referrals to community housing partners, we continue to help individuals achieve long-term stability. We witness transformation every day as people regain a sense of belonging in housing — something beautifully reflected in the opening of St. Francis Apartments West in 2025, where community meals, activities, and laughter fill the shared spaces.

Now well into our fifth decade, we remain committed to walking alongside our community members on their paths to connection, housing, and stability. We are also proud to be part of a broader community effort to strengthen Denver —working alongside partners to improve the landscape of our city and create a place where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.

With gratitude,

Nancy Burke, CEO
and Christie Doherty, Board of Directors Chair

Support & Revenue

St. Francis Center maintained strong financial health, with total revenue of $9,817,049. In the most recent fiscal year, 82% of expenses were dedicated to direct program services, reflecting our commitment to mission-driving impact.

David has been stably housed for three years.

A SFC Success Story

Before gaining housing, David moved between shelters and his car, relying on St. Francis Center as a safe place to shower and feel supported. Through the Day Center and Housing Solutions Program, he transitioned into his own apartment—a turning point that reshaped how he sees himself and his future. Today, David is healthier, focused on his mental well‑being, exploring education, and building long‑term goals with renewed confidence.
